RISE Program

Refugee & Immigrant Specialized Experience (RISE) Program

Newcomers and refugees are welcomed to Canada to build a new life with freedom and safety for themselves and their families. The RISE Program supports adult and youth newcomers and refugees who are experiencing complex and multiple challenges in settling into their new country and community.

RISE assists newcomers and refugees to use their strengths and resources to increase their capacity to cope with issues and barriers, and to increase their skills and knowledge to settle and integrate into their new country and community.

Through safe and specialized case management in their first language, RISE provides:

  • Social and emotional support
  • Settlement information and counselling
  • Life skills, literacy and essential skills development
  • Practical assistance and supported access to services
  • Housing and health care navigation support
  • Connection to community

DIVERSEcity has RISE case management workers who can offer services in the following languages: Arabic, Amharic, Burmese, Dari, English, French, Pashto, Karen, Kinyamulenge, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Rohingya, Spanish, Swahili and Tigrinya.
