BUILD BC-Yukon Call for Proposals

Capacity-building grants for BIPOC-led grassroots organizations

DIVERSEcity’s BUILD BC-Yukon program supports the growth, stability and long-term impact of BIPOC-led grassroots organizations across British Columbia and Yukon.

Through our 2026 call for proposals, which closed on February 15, 2026, DIVERSEcity offered grants to grassroots organization ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 through the Equity Stream Fund from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.  These grants are to strengthen internal capacity in ways that reflect community realities, lived experience and culturally grounded practices.

Funding may support areas such as:

  • Governance and board development
  • Leadership development and succession planning
  • Funding readiness and financial systems
  • Data management and CRM tools
  • Operational infrastructure
  • Equity-centered organizational practices
  • Service delivery

The goal is to meet grassroots organizations where they are at, reduce their barriers, while supporting sustainable, community-led growth.
