Mobile dental clinic brings free oral health services to DIVERSEcity clients

Partnership with Vancouver Community Dental Hygiene Program helps improve access to preventive dental care

Good oral health is an important part of overall health and well-being, yet for many newcomers and individuals facing financial barriers, accessing preventive dental care can be difficult.

To help improve access to these essential services, students from the Vancouver Community Dental Hygiene Program, operated by the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene, recently visited DIVERSEcity to provide free dental hygiene services through a mobile clinic set up onsite.

The temporary clinic brought dental hygiene services directly to DIVERSEcity clients, helping reduce barriers to care while giving students valuable hands-on experience working with diverse communities.

Preventive dental care plays an important role in maintaining overall health. Regular cleanings and oral health education can help prevent more serious health concerns while supporting confidence, comfort and quality of life.

“We are grateful to the Vancouver Community Dental Hygiene Program and its students for partnering with us to make oral health care more accessible for our clients,” said Doua Amoura, Manager Women, Families, and Community Health. “Partnerships like this help ensure community members can access important health services in a welcoming and familiar environment.”

DIVERSEcity thanks the students, faculty and volunteers who made the mobile clinic possible and helped support healthier smiles in our community.
