Grade 7 students share handmade toys with children at DIVERSEcity

Through handmade toys and meaningful conversations, Grade 7 students learned about community impact while bringing joy to children in DIVERSEcity’s LINC and SAFE HAVEN programs.

DIVERSEcity recently welcomed 22 Grade 7 students from Surrey Christian School for a special visit that combined creativity, learning and community connection.

As part of a school project, the students created handmade toys and presented them to children participating in DIVERSEcity’s LINC and SAFE HAVEN programs. The thoughtful gifts brought smiles to the children while giving students the opportunity to share their creativity and connect with members of the community.

During their visit, the students also learned about DIVERSEcity’s programs and services, gaining a better understanding of how the organization supports newcomers, immigrants and diverse communities across Surrey, Delta and beyond.

The visit was a meaningful reminder of the positive impact young people can have through acts of kindness, empathy and community engagement. DIVERSEcity is grateful to the students and teachers from Surrey Christian School for helping create a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone involved.
